The flu season has started, and viruses are literally lurking around every corner. Yuck! For now, we are successfully avoiding being ill. BUT holiday break will be over soon, and my little schoolboy is returning to his classes. So I'm expecting a stronger attack from all sorts of school diseases.

With that in mind, I'm extensively working on boosting my family's immunity. Ingredients
  

  • 1 large juicy orange peeled
  • 1 medium carrot peeled (if organic then just washed)
  • 1 persimmon
  • ½ large ripe banana
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin coconut oil melted and cooled
  • 1/3 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 teaspoon grated fresh ginger optional
  • Topping: Goji berries and coconut chips.

Instructions
 

  • Put all the ingredients in the blender and mix until well combined. If necessary, add some water to get a smoothie desired consistency.

Notes

Ginger is spicy, so omit the ginger for kid-friendly version.

    I made this smoothie last week when I was a bit under the weather and to my surprise, I didn't get as sick as I usually do! I was able to beat my cold faster because of how much vitamin C this has. Thank you so much <3

    Oh my gawsh, I have been fighting off something for the past few weeks, so I need about 10 gallons of this smoothie!! The flavors sound delicious and so unique!
