This HEALTHY Chocolate Avocado Smoothie is incredibly creamy and delicious, packed with so many nutrients and loaded with SUPERFOODS. It's filling and yet super easy to make. This beauty is the perfect breakfast that will satisfy your chocolate cravings. + It's completely added-sugar-free.
Lately, I have such terrible mood swings. My hormones are on a rampage. Seriously, I'm unbearable - to myself AND to my family. I'm well aware that this is all because of the stress we had with moving and everything. It's really hard not to feel stressed when you're moving to ANOTHER COUNTRY and you're changing your life like COMPLETELY.
My hubby tolerates this emotional rollercoasters I have...for now. My morning routine that includes meditation and yoga, and calmly sipping warm Matcha Green Tea Latte helps me cope with the stress. But just the other day I said to my husband that nothing, absolutely NOTHING gets me in the good mood better than beautiful raw homemade CHOCOLATE. Like these Raw Chocolate Crunch Bars.
But since I'm currently on "getting off the sugar diet", thus meaning I avoid dessert treats, the only thing I can do to indulge my abnormal chocolate craving (and settle my hormones) is by having maca infused Cacao Hot Chocolate or this added-sugar-free Chocolate Cinnamon Balls. These two are great mood-boosters cause they are loaded with RAW CACAO - natural antioxidants, hormone balancer, and a real pleaser.
Creating a balanced but indulging chocolate breakfast is kinda "my thing" so last week I made this delicious, heavenly creamy Chocolate Avocado Smoothie. This smoothie has everything I need atm. It's filled with nutrients that boost my mood and energy. It's packed with SUPERFOODS - avocado and raw cacao powder + it's made without added sugars.
This smoothie fits my lifestyle right now on so many levels. Not to mention it's smooth and velvety, adding pure chocolate pleasure. Oh, did I mention is secretly GREEN loaded with veggies? YES... I'll get to that part .. just keep reading.
To make this chocolate beauty I used only the finest stuff - SUPERFOODS - that are all staple in my pantry - avocado, raw cacao, Ceylon cinnamon, hemp seeds, goji berries. You should have all these in your pantry too btw.
Avocado is my favorite fatty friend. I use it almost daily in my salads. I make spreads. I have it sliced with my backed eggs in the morning. But avocado is great in smoothies too. Avocado adds extra creaminess to smoothie drinks. Just look at that creamy Matcha Smoothie. Yummy!
However, what's more important, it adds essential nutrients - HEALTHY FATS - monounsaturated fatty acids aka omega-3's that are heart-healthy and anti-inflammatory. Avocado is rich in magnesium, potassium, and fiber, as well in many essential vitamins - like those "B Group vitamins". A real superfood with many health benefits!
When it comes to raw cacao powder, well I can't stop praising this superfood enough. Cacao powder is full of health benefits. + It's a healthy option when it comes to indulgence too. That's my favorite part.
Raw cacao is full of flavonoids, which act as natural antioxidants that protect the body from aging and disease caused by free radicals. It's also the highest plant-based source of iron known to man - has more iron than SPINACH. Impressive, right?
It's also loaded with magnesium, the most deficient mineral in the Western world. AND It's natural mood-booster and anti-depressant. Gotta love that cacao powder!!!
This Chocolate Avocado Smoothie is a pretty incredible drink loaded with many nutrients and of course addictive chocolate flavor. But underneath all, it hides something even more incredible. This smoothie is packed with one special veggie - SPINACH! Yes, I love to toss a handful of greens in my smoothies. Rich cacao flavor hides nicely the leafy green taste of spinach making this smoothie acceptable even by my veggie-hater hubby.
So this decadent, creamy rich chocolate smoothie is actually secretly GREEN. Ha!
I sweetened this smoothie with ripe banana and didn't add any additional sweeteners. I didn't have to. But you can definitely toss a few Medjool dates if you find this Chocolate Avocado Smoothie a bit bitterish - because of the raw cacao and spinach. Dates are a natural sweetener, just like the banana, which means this smoothie is made completely without added sugars, whichever of these you choose to add.
To make it more flavorful, I spiced the smoothie with beautiful Ceylon cinnamon. Cinnamon enhanced the bitter-sweet chocolate flavor but also added health benefits too. Also, I tossed in some hemp seeds to boost PROTEINS.
I also topped this smoothie with some colorful, but incredibly healthy Goji berries - a great source of vitamin C.
This creamy Chocolate Avocado Smoothie is not only delicious beyond words, but also very nutritious - high in protein, fiber, healthy fats. It has everything your body needs. It's a full meal. + It has some amazing anti-inflammatory properties too and it's loaded with antioxidants. It will keep you full for a long time and it will definitely boost your mood and calm you. Just what I need these days.
Chocolate Avocado Smoothie is perfect breakfast smoothie. But you can enjoy this beauty any time of the day. It's an ideal snack to satisfy your chocolate craving. So rich and velvety! So sooo good!
Enjoy!

Thanks I love my avocado always have this in my smoothie gotta do this one tommorow.but I have a question I don't have any cacaco powder just the full bars I add a small piece does it make a difference if it is not possible..thanks fir these recipes
Hi Deborah. If you don't have cacao powder you can use cocoa powder or chocolate powder. If you don't have none of these you can melt some chocolate (preferably dark chocolate because it has more cacao content) and add to the smoothie.
